Head of School Jesse Dougherty, Ed.D. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Pat Barry as the School's new director of admissions. Pat will lead all aspects of admissions management including enrollment, re-enrollment and retention, and admissions events for the School.
Pat comes to Green Vale from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, NJ where she was the Director of Lower School Admissions and Director of Financial Aid. She has over 25 years of experience in teaching, as well as various leadership positions in both independent and public school settings.
After visiting GVS during the interview process, Pat said she was attracted to an educational environment where students are known, motivated, challenged, and supported by both talented faculty and a devoted community.
"From the moment that I stepped on campus, I could feel the joyful energy and enthusiasm for learning at GVS. The values of trustworthiness, honesty, caring, responsibility, citizenship and respect resonate deeply with me as exactly the traits that schools should develop in students in this innovative era of education," Pat said. "What I loved is that it was clear to me from my visits and conversations throughout the process that those aren't just words on a website but truly the hallmarks of the student experience at The Green Vale School. I am very excited to be able to introduce new families to this vibrant culture of learning. "
Pat originally hails from New Hyde Park, where she grew up with her five brothers and sister. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead.
