DESCRIPTION
The Marine Science Program is designed to foster an appreciation for the local aquatic environment and important ecological issues that threaten its stability. Students will learn how to identify, collect, measure, record and analyze living and non-living environmental factors in the laboratory as well as out in the field at various locations on Long Island. In addition, students will learn how to set up and maintain an aquarium, perform controlled experiments in order to better understand our local waters, as well as learn how to snorkel and participate in an antique helmet dive. All needed equipment, use of off-campus facilities, and busing for field trips are included in the fee.
