Third Grader Wins National Handwriting Contest

Green Vale's very own third grade student Cecilia Saad from Mrs. Campbell's class was named the top third-grader in the Zaner-Bloser national handwriting contest, beating out more than 37,350 participants in this year's annual competition. Cecilia's story was published in Newsday, and she was presented with a trophy, medal and check for $1,000 at this morning's Lower School Assembly. She was also interviewed by News 12 and featured on the 5 o'clock news. To top it off, Cecilia told her mom that she would like to donate a portion of her winnings to the Tanzanian Children's Fund, which is run by Green Vale alumna India Howell '72.
