Dear Families,
We will continue to update you on COVID-19 preparedness as frequently as external developments or internal GVS planning/policy dictate.
Although the current risk to the general American public remains low, we want to be proactive in ensuring that Green Vale is well prepared for any eventuality or CDC directive issued in the days and weeks ahead.
As of today, we bring the following to your attention:
- This past Friday afternoon, our faculty meetings were devoted to technical, curricular, & logistical planning in case of a need to conduct online learning for any period of time.
- In such an unlikely event, all families with students in 1st-8th Grades would need Internet access. If you have questions about getting your child online from home, please contact parentsupport@greenvaleschool.org.
- We remind families to abide by the School's request to report recent or planned travel by household members to highly affected areas (as updated every couple of days by the CDC) and of course to report exposure to anyone with COVID-19. Any such reports or absences from school that come as a result will be kept confidential except for teachers of such student(s) as needed.
- We are a very interconnected community, and the actions of individuals can have unintended yet serious implications for others. It is vitally important that each of us makes choices according to what is safest for the community overall.
Sincerely,
Jesse Dougherty Ed.D.
