15,000 Pounds of Meals Packed to Go at LUHI

28 volunteers from The Green Vale School helped pack 15,000 pounds of meals in two hours at Long Island Lutheran (LUHI) in Brookville on April 12, 2013. Over the course of three days the LUHI event produces 300,000 pounds of meals that will be distributed to families on Long Island still recovering from Hurriane Sandy, and to elementary school students in Haiti. This is the third year that LUHI has sponsored this Kids Against Hunger project.

Special thanks to Cathy Iannotta and the Interact Club and Valerie Field and Lower School Student Council for recruiting student and parent volunteers for this worthwhile cause.

Volunteers filled, weighed and sealed the high protein "meals-to-go" on assembly lines in the LUHI field house.
