All 45 members of the Green Vale Pacers, and their three coaches -- Cami, Jenn and Corinne -- completed the Third Annual Strength for Life 5K Run held on Sunday, November 18 at Sunken Meadow State Park. Their fundraising efforts netted over $900 for the organization that helps cancer patients, although this year half of the monies raised by the Walk went to families recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Jacqui Errico, Executive Director of Strength for Life shared this: "Special kudos to the Green Vale School Pacers, a team of 45 young ladies and their three coaches who trained for 10 weeks to tackle the trails of Sunken Meadow. If you are, or have known a high school track star, you know this is one challenging course. These young girls, ages 9 to 13, worked hard, achieved their goal and finished the run. The GreenVale Pacers have been with Strength for Life from our Inaugural Run, they populate our run and make it a success with their team and their families who all come to support and learn what these girls have endured. In addition, they fund-raise for Strength for Life, this year collecting over $900 for us. I would like to hear your applause for them - because they deserve it."
